Named After Mama, Built on 44 Years

When Chef Robb retired in 2022, he came back to Austin and launched Chef Blaq Robb Private Dining & Catering, then opened Ruthie's at Way South Food Park in Manchaca. The trailer wasn't a fallback — it was the whole point.

Chef Robb joined the Navy after high school and served over 20 years as a Culinary Specialist, rising to First Class Petty Officer and cooking across the globe. While serving, he was Head Chef at Chefs SD in San Diego — cooking for Akon, Ginuwine, and Bryson Tiller just to name a few.

At the 2nd Annual Austin Wings Festival, Ruthie's took 1st Place People's Choice and Judge's Choice with their signature flavors 24kt D'Usse and MaddChef. KVUE and FOX 7 News both came calling — but the real reward was the love and recognition Ruthie's deserved.
